The reporter learned from the State Administration of Taxation on the 22nd that since the implementation of the policy of reducing the purchase tax for small-displacement sedan vehicles, the effect has begun to show, and the current tax reduction is about 2.5 billion yuan, driving sales growth of small-displacement cars.
On September 29, the State Council decided to levy a vehicle purchase tax on the purchase of 1.6-liter and below-displacement passenger cars at a rate of 5% from October 1, 2015 to December 31, 2016.
According to statistics, from October 1st to 20th, a total of 788,500 cars were sold nationwide, of which 640,400 cars were discharged at 1.6 liters and below, up 22.5% year-on-year, accounting for 81.2% of total car sales during the same period, compared with the same period last year and this year. In September, they increased by 3.03 and 5.12 percentage points respectively. From the perspective of tax reduction, from October 1st to 20th, the sales of 1.6 liters and below are not included in the tax amount of 50.17 billion yuan, and the tax reduction is about 2.5 billion yuan.
