From 2004 to 2006, Jinhua conducted extensive research on domestically established 600,000-ton/year PTA plant manufacturers, and cooperated with China Textile Industry Design Institute and Beijing Chemical Industry University to jointly develop a 600,000-ton/year PTA project dryer. Test equipment and related test work were completed, and a set of proprietary technologies for the design and manufacture of a large-scale PTA/CTA dryer was formed. Acquired three new national patents: “Tube Condensate Discharge Device for Steam-heated Dryer”, “Feeding Seal for Rotary Dryer”, and “Three-to-Two” National Patent for Cantilever Shaft Feeder for Large Dryer. The development of the PTA/CTA dryer was an opportunity. As the first drafting unit of the standard, Jinhua completed the preparation of the industry standard of the “steam-heated tubular rotary cylinder dryer” and added to the gap in the national industry standard.

On September 17, 2007, Chongqing Pengwei Petrochemical Co., Ltd. and Jinhua Chemical Machinery Co., Ltd. signed a contract for a one-million-ton grade PTA/CTA rotary dryer, marking the first domestic production of a million-ton PTA/CTA dryer. Take the first step.

To realize the localization of a million-ton-class PTA/CTA dryer, the Jinhua must be turned upside down, difficult, new, and refined. Large capacity, large specifications, and large weight. The one-million-ton PTA/CTA dryer is the most domestically produced dryer with 136 tons/hour and 138 tons/hour respectively. Its specifications are 4.2 meters in diameter, 32 meters in length and 3.8 meters in diameter, and 27.5 meters in length. Weights reach 390 tons and 285 tons respectively.

The second feature of the million-tonnage PTA/CTA dryer is difficult, difficult to design, difficult to manufacture, difficult to detect, and difficult to transport. The design link is the first key step in the domesticization of the dryer. In this link, chemical process calculation, feeder structure, seal structure, steam chamber structure and so on are the difficulties that must be overcome. In order to obtain a good sealing effect and ensure the safety and reliability of the equipment, Jinhua used the patented technology of the group company in the design of the sealing structure, realized the adjustment and compensation function of the seal wear, and ensured the safe and reliable sealing performance and the wear of the dynamic seal points. Light, low friction power consumption.

For the design of the steam chamber and the condensate discharge device of large dryers, the heat transfer effect, manufacturing installation and other factors must be considered. For this purpose, Jinhua has adopted a new internal discharge structure and applied the verified patent technology of the group company on the pilot drying machine to ensure smooth discharge of condensate, significant gas-water separation effect, and stable operation of the device. Based on the analysis of the overall strength, Jinhua chooses reasonable calculation conditions and performs finite element numerical calculation and stress analysis on the overall structure of the dryer. Although the preliminary design is completed, it is necessary to cross the greater difficulties in order to turn the drawing process into a real product. The pairing of the barrel and the overall machining, the assembly of the rolling ring, the pairing of the pipe brackets, the pairing of the steam chamber and the discharging spiral, and the welding and the large area polishing are the manufacturing difficulties of the equipment. In order to ensure the coaxiality of the roller ring, Jinhua Machine adopts a 5m×30m horizontal lathe to process the barrel; the PTA dryer has a total of 13 brackets, each with 16 pipe brackets, in order to ensure the pipe bracket hole pairs. Refinement is the fourth feature of the million-tonnage PTA/CTA dryer and is also the goal of design and development. On August 28, 2008, the CTA dryer carried out an empty load test in the special chemical reactor plant of Jinhua, and all test data reached the design requirements. On September 2, 2008, the two dryers passed the appraisal of experts from Northeastern University, China Chemical Equipment Association and other authoritative departments. After comprehensive review and assessment, the expert group unanimously held that the project has overcome 18 technical difficulties in the development process and integrated three national patent technologies. The main technical indicators of the completed dryers are better than the industry standards and design indicators, and the factory manufacturing precision has reached International advanced level.

In November 2009, two million-tonnage PTA/CTA large-scale dryers were formally driven by Chongqing Pengwei Petrochemical Co., Ltd. After more than one year of actual operation, the process performance and mechanical properties all met the design requirements and were announced. The history of long-term reliance on imports for key equipment such as dryers for large-scale PTA installations in China is gone forever. At present, Jinhua is carrying out the research and development of drying machines in Shaoxing Far East, Hainan Yisheng, Yisheng Dahua, and Jiangsu Yalu in an orderly and orderly manner, and further consolidating and developing localization results of large-scale dryers.
