At present, the methods for measuring leaf area mainly include instrument method, coefficient method, regression analysis method, and network image processing method. Although there are many methods available for the determination of plant leaf area, various methods have differences in the accuracy, accuracy, convenience, and measurement cost of the measurement. A large number of research results at home and abroad show that the leaf area meter, planimeter, and manual grid paper method have high measurement accuracy and can be used as a comparison in the measurement of leaf area. This paper compares and analyzes the leaf area data measured by different types of leaf area meters and manual graph paper methods, and uses the leaf area data measured by square paper method as a reference to measure the accuracy of two types of leaf area meters. Comparing with the accuracy, it provides an objective and scientific reference for the study of crop leaf area measurement.
(1) Through comparative analysis of leaf area data measured by leaf area detector and manual checkered paper method, it can be seen that in different developmental stages of wheat and corn, the change trends of the leaf area of the crops measured by the two methods are basically the same. The difference in leaf area data increases with the increase in leaf area of crop plants.
(2) There are some differences in the accuracy of measuring the leaf area data of the two models. Compared with the two, leaf area data measured using the GStar-III leaf area meter had a smaller coefficient of variation. The GStar-III leaf area meter was used to measure the leaf area data with better repeatability, more stable results, and higher measurement accuracy.
(3) The leaf area data measured by the manual grid paper method is a real value. The comparison of the two types of leaf area meter data shows that: The LI-3000 type leaves are used during the development period of wheat and corn. The relative error of the leaf area data measured by the area meter must be larger, and its measurement accuracy is inferior to the GStar-III type.
