DeepOcean AS has signed a riser installation contract with Norwegian National Oil Company for the “Kristin†semi-submersible offshore platform and the “Heidrun†tension leg platform in the North Sea.
       The two platforms were remodeled to prepare for the connection to the Maria development project operated by Wintershall in the Norwegian North Sea. Offshore installation work includes riser, underwater dynamic umbilical cord and cable installation. DeepOcean will be installed using the large offshore construction vessel "Edda Freya" delivered in the first quarter of 2016.
       Offshore installation work is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2016, including umbilical cable, DEH cable and production riser installation of the “Kristin†semi-submersible platform, which will be installed on the “Heidrun†tension leg platform.
       The "Edda Freya" is a SALT 304 model with a length of 149.8 meters, a width of 27 meters and a deck area of ​​2,300 square meters. The ship is equipped with a DP3 positioning system with a 150-ton double tension vertical laying system and a 3000-ton turntable under the deck. There is also a 600-ton automatic heave compensation jib crane with a capacity of 140 people.
