Italy's punch industry has undergone a substantial recovery

According to statistics of the Italian Press, Robotics, Automation and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturers Association (UCIMU-SISTEMIPERPRODURRE), in the first quarter of 2010, the Italy Punch Factory Order Index reflected the positive development of the industry, and the absolute value of the order index was 94.8 (base 2005 100), an increase of 15.2% over the same period in 2009.

After experiencing a six-month decline, the Italian Punch Factory has seen a substantial recovery as the economy gradually recovers. Compared with the fourth quarter of 2009, the industry’s recovery this season showed a number of different characteristics, and the recovery of orders reflected both local Italian and overseas markets.

Among them, in the first quarter, the overseas market orders obtained by Italian punch makers increased by 18.5% over the same period of last year, which was the main driving force for growth. The absolute value of overseas orders is 106.9. Although the index showed a mild recovery, the index was still lower than the first quarter of 2005, which means that the economic crisis made the Italian overseas punch market fall to the level of five years ago. In addition, the order index fell by 40% compared with the same period before the crisis from 2007 to 2008.

For the domestic market, the Italian punch makers found that the order growth trend from the fourth quarter of 2009 continues. In the first quarter, the domestic order index was 70.1, a year-on-year increase of 10%.

Giancarlo Losma, president of UCIMU-SISTEMIPERPRODURRE pointed out: "The data does reflect the industry's recovery, especially in overseas markets. However, the current situation is still more complicated. Although the domestic situation is indeed improving, but the pace is relatively slow. At the same time, Tremonti- The Ter policy will expire on June 30 and the industry may be affected."
