Amcor Flexibles Degradable Plastic Film Expands Applications

ICA's decision to use Amcor's biodegradable film demonstrates the continuous expansion of the use of environmentally-friendly films provided by Amcor's Amcor Flexibles, and it also enhances Amcor's leading position in this growing market. Amcor Flexibles was also awarded the Bioplastics Converter Award in 2007 by the European Plastics News.
ICA is currently using two products from Amcor NaturePlus. One is a blown composite degradable film produced by Amcor's extrusion base in Ilkeston, and the other is a product made from polylactic acid (corn-starch based degradable film). All products are suitable for a very wide range of applications and are printed and converted at Amcor Flexibles Ledbury. They are all confirmed by DinCertco as degradable materials according to the EN 13432 standard.
“The development of these products is based on Amcor’s philosophy of producing more sustainable and environmentally friendly materials. Sustainability is also our challenge and responsibility, and we also hope our services can help our customers from all over the world. Meet their sustainability goals, said Peter Ettridge, sustainability packaging development manager at Amcor Flexibles Food.
